Proper construction is the secret to a leak-free, beautiful frameless shower. Before we install your glass, here are three critical requirements for your project:

The 1/8" Curb Pitch: We recommend a minimum 1/8" slope (pitch) on your entry curb, leaning inward toward the shower floor. Flat or backward-leaning curbs allow water to pool and escape into your bathroom. If your existing curb is flat, don't worry—Tile Works can often adjust it during the installation process.

Structural Framing: Frameless glass is heavy. We recommend adding solid wood blocking behind the wall in a perfectly plumb line where your door hinges will be mounted. This ensures a secure, lifelong anchor for the glass.

Precision Measurement: To ensure a "glove-like" fit, we always perform final measurements after your tile and grout are 100% complete.

Q: What is the best way to keep my shower glass clean and clear? A: To prevent cloudiness and hard water spots, use a squeegee on all glass panels immediately after every use. We also recommend applying a hydrophobic glass repellent coating to help water bead off effortlessly. For the best results, leave your shower door open for at least one hour after use to allow for proper airflow and humidity reduction.
Q: How wide can a single shower door be? A: Our recommended size for a single frameless door is between 26" and 28" wide. While we can go up to 30 inches for a single panel, any opening wider than that typically requires a separate stationary glass panel (sidelight) to maintain structural integrity and prevent hinge strain.
Q: How tall should my shower glass enclosure be? A: Most residential bathrooms look and function best with a glass height between 72" and 78". This height effectively contains water spray while leaving enough space at the top for steam to escape, preventing the "sauna effect" and keeping your bathroom ventilated.
